Looking for Reader Opinions!
I don't usually do this, but I started writing a Fire Emblem Fates fanfic a while back (it's incomplete, don't know if I'll finish it or not), and I wanted to share a small excerpt from it just to see if it grabs anyone's attention on here. I've decided to post it to my journal instead of making it a literature entry since it is, after all, part of a larger piece of story.
The fanfic is about the Royal Family of Nohr having brunch one morning, with Jakob, Felicia, and Flora serving them. Since this is, after all, a fanfic, I took some liberties and gave them modern technology, as you shall see in this excerpt. Alright, roll film!

[FE] Niles X Reader: Nightmares
For a man as cold and as callous as him, Niles the ever strong wielder of a bow had a terrible weakness that tortured him in the realm of his dreams. His past always returned to haunt him in the night, reminding him of what he was, and that he couldn’t escape his old self that he though had been finally cast away in the present, tormenting him with the fears that never left him over and over again. His life being a fugitive, the twisted abandonment, the higher ups living the life while he crawled the streets alone; all these horrendous memories ripping through his mind in the vulnerability of his sleep. All of these thoughts were eq

| Fire Emblem Fates . Leo | Last Dance
“Hyah!! Can’t you go any faster?!” Leo exclaimed, digging his heels into the horse’s sides. Thorns and branches clawed at his face, drawing thin traces of blood to the surface as he stormed along.
He was out of time to care for his now marred skin.
The horse thundered into town, miles from the castle he considered his home - citizens shrieked and dove from his path.
He was out of time of time to care for people in his way.
Pulling to a halt, his eyes trailed up to the roof of the manor. Thunder crackled, lightning nearing the spires before he pulled himself from the horse and raced into the buil

Xander x Reader: Fit for a King
Dreary rain drizzled on, and the high prince rubbed his head in agitation. War waged on, there was no peace from the endless barrage on Nohr’s defenses - on top of that, there was so much work he had yet to do to resolve issues the country was giving itself. They had once been a proud nation, but now their high and mighty pride was dwindling into a pitiful disaster.
“Gods, send me a miracle,” he muttered beneath his heavy sigh. A messenger had been going in and out all day, leaving behind letters and messages vital to his work, but other than that, there had been no contact with the outside world for him all day. His weary

Shura x Reader: A Gentle Thief
The sound of (y/n)’s footsteps were drowned out by the echoing rattle of fallen trash and the yowl of an angry cat - the soft leather shoes were all the good she had left, but even those would soon have little to no use. Hunger and cold were the main points on her mind, it was enough to drive someone mad - hunger, cold, hunger, cold, food, warmth, cold food, warm hunger, warm food, safe shelter. They rattled in her shaken brain, melting into other thoughts and throwing away thoughts beside that in a maddening way. Nothing she could possibly do would relieve her of those thoughts - unless she satisfied them.
“Is it warm you want,

King!Ryoma x Insane!Reader: Killing the Heir
The bell tolled across the broad lands of Hoshido - unnatural for the bright country and thriving capital to be so empty, so solemn. A cover of clouds swept across the sky, thickening like a beaten whip and suffocating the children’s hopes for sunlight. No sun could be shed that day, for there was death in Hoshido.
Crowds whispered amongst themselves, breathless echoes in wonder of the waiting procedure. Children were hushed, pushed out of sight before the king - most days, he would welcome, with open arms, men and women, boys and girls, anywhere from infant to hardly a wisp of an aged soul. But with the shrieking caw of a crow, visit

“Is she planning on staying in there all day?” muttered Leo as he paced the hallways, knocking on (y/n)’s room once again. She had been locked away for hours, and everyone was stuck waiting for her now - none of them understood the holdup.
“Leo, try to knock again,” Camilla insisted, crossing her arms and fidgeting with one of her lavender curls. With more persistence, Leo knocked once again, earning only a “hold on” faintly from within the bedroom. Another muffled voice could be heard from the same proximities, and they all turned their eyes in confusion when a similar thought waved through their m

Kaden x Reader: Playtime
“Hey, get back here!” Kaden laughed as he raced through the woods, bounding over branches and rocks to catch up with the escaping (y/n). Her laughs echoed through the towering trees, and her fanning tail escaped into the misty shine of the sun as he ran faster to pursue her. Leaping from rock to rock quickly became a useless endeavor as she heard a playful growl from behind her - Kaden had changed to his beast form, of course, and was using his incredible speed to shorten the gap between them at an exponential rate.
“W-Wait, that isn’t fair!” (y/n) squealed, followed by a fit of giggles as she ducked under a fa
